Companies continue to reach out to Rj Link’s engineering team for gearbox evaluations to find out the extent of damage.  Rj Link helps the customer to make an educated decision as to whether a repair/rebuild, re-design or purchase of a new unit is the best solution.

In this example, two different companies sent in gearboxes to Rj Link for evaluation.  Both gearboxes were being used in Oil & Gas applications, and the customers requested that Rj Link’s engineering team do an analysis to determine the cost of repair versus the cost to purchase a new unit.

Results : 

Both customers chose to have their gearboxes repaired at a cost of approximately $9,000 versus purchasing new units at a cost of $17,000.
