Rj Link Int. received a custom gearbox inquiry for a marine application that requires a direct drive 1:1 ratio to an engine.  The customer wanted the ability to then drive the gearbox via an electric motor that requires a 1.25:1 reducer, all at 360 HP with input speeds at 2400 RPM’s.

Rj Link offered a unit that provides engine rotation at the output (pictured on the left). The design required a slim footprint to minimize space, and a specific center distance of over 19” to clear the drive shaft from the engine and the size of the electric motor.
