    Students from Rock Valley College’s Tech Works Program recently toured Rj Link International’s facility.  TechWorks is an employer-driven training organization that develops and delivers a customized curriculum to prepare people for a career in advanced manufacturing in just six to eight weeks.

    Some students that enter the program are new to the manufacturing field, and others are enrolled with a goal of continuing their education.  The small classroom size and the hands-on training enables the program to graduate highly employable individuals into the regional workforce.

     

    Two Credentials Currently Being Offered:

    • Measurement Materials & Safety
    • CNC Lathe or Mill Operator Level One

     

    Students learn the skills necessary to enter the manufacturing environment at an entry level position with a solid foundation of shop math, blueprint interpretation, metrology and CNC setup/operation skills.

     

    Class Details:

    • The first week of class is Job Readiness (20 hours).
    • The CNC portion of class is six weeks (150 hours): Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Optimal TechWorks class size is eight students.
    • Cost of the program $2,700
